Question 113

Sanket purchased 20 dozen notebooks at Rs 48 per dozen. He sold 8 dozen at 10% profit and the remaining 12 dozen with 20% profit. What is his profit percentage in the transaction?

20 dozen notebooks at Rs 48 per dozen

Total cost = 20 $$\times$$ 48 = 960

He sold 8 dozen at 10% profit

$$\therefore$$ Profit from 8 dozen = 8 $$\times$$ 48 $$\times$$ 0.1 = 38.4

He sold 12 dozen at 20% profitΒ

$$\therefore$$ Profit from 12 dozen = 12 $$\times$$ 48 $$\times$$ 0.2 = 115.2

Total Profit = 38.4 + 115. 2= 153.6

Profit percentage = 153.6/960Β  $$\times$$ 100 = 16%

Hence, option B is the correct choice.
