Question 105

If a + b = 6, a - b = 2, then the value of 2*(a^2 + b^2 ) is :

Solution

here we are given with

a + b = 6.......(1)

a - b = 2...(2)

adding both equations

2a = 8

a = 4

so b = 2

we need to calculate $$2 \times (a^2 + b^2 ) = 2 \times (4^2 + 2^2) = 40$$
