In ΔPQR measure of angle Q is 90°. If cosP = 5/13, and PQ = 2.5cm, then what is the length (in cm) of side PR?

Solution

Given : $$\cos P$$ = $$\frac{5}{13}$$

Also, $$\cos P=\frac{PQ}{PR}=\frac{5}{13}$$

Let PQ = $$5x$$ cm and PR = $$13x$$ cm

According to ques, => $$5x=2.5$$

=> $$x=\frac{2.5}{5}=\frac{1}{2}$$

$$\therefore$$ PR = $$13\times\frac{1}{2}=6.5$$ cm

=> Ans - (B)
