Participants compete for tuition scholarships, startup and venture residencies, innovation expeditions, professional networking opportunities and other rewards collectively advertised at ₹35 lakh+.

How to Register for SP Jain Startup Talent Hunt 2026?
Registration is conducted through the competition's Unstop listing.
For team participation, one student should register as the Team Leader and add the other members using their registered email or mobile details. Each invited member must subsequently verify and confirm their registration on the platform.
Team-based rounds are accessed and submitted through the Team Leader's account. However, when the competition reaches an individual assessment stage, every registered team member must complete the assessment independently.
Students should also finalise their teams carefully. The competition rules state that team rosters cannot be modified after the registration deadline.
SP J Startup Talent Hunt 2026 Rounds and Selection Process
The selection process is designed to test progressively different aspects of startup and business decision-making.
Stage 1: Operator Logic Qualifier
The first stage is a 20-minute online assessment taken by the designated Team Leader. It evaluates commercial intuition, problem-solving logic and basic business acumen.
Stage 2: Collaborative Business Decision Simulation
Qualifying teams enter a multi-round business simulation in which participants make startup-style decisions involving pricing, unit economics, customer acquisition cost (CAC), operational capacity and cash runway.
This is arguably the most distinctive part of the competition because success depends less on memorised management theory and more on understanding how one decision affects another.
Stage 3: Individual Competence Assessment
Every member of qualifying teams takes an individual 20-minute, 20-question business acumen assessment.
The individual scores are combined with the team's simulation performance to identify the National Top 200 Finalists.
Stage 4: Operator Video Pitch & Executive Memo
The National Top 200 receive a real-world startup dilemma. Participants must diagnose the problem and submit an unedited three-minute video pitch along with a one-page executive operator memo.
According to the competition listing, these submissions are evaluated by SPJIMR faculty, experienced venture operators and industry leaders.
For preparation, participants should therefore focus not only on startup terminology but also on interpreting unit economics, prioritising limited resources and explaining business decisions clearly.
