MAH MBA CET 2026 Exam Analysis

The MAH MBA CET 2026 officially began on April 6, 2026, and the first slot is done. If you appeared in Slot 1, you already know how it felt. And if your slot is coming up, this analysis will help you walk in fully prepared.

Based on multiple student reviews of Day 1 Slot 1, the overall verdict is clear, the paper was Easy to Moderate. No major surprises, no technical glitches, and no incorrect questions were reported. The exam ran smoothly from start to finish.

Here is everything you need to know about how the paper went

MAH MBA CET 2026 Exam Structure

The exam had the standard format, 200 questions in 150 minutes. That works out to roughly 45 seconds per question, which means speed is just as important as accuracy in this exam.

One thing that catches many first-timers off guard is the "jumbled" format. Questions from different sections are not grouped together, you could be solving a Quant problem, then a Logic puzzle, then a Verbal question, all one after the other. This is a known feature of the CET, and the key is to stay adaptable throughout the paper rather than expecting a neat section-by-section flow.

Since there is no negative marking, attempting all 200 questions is non-negotiable. Leaving even a single question blank is simply leaving marks on the table

MAH MBA CET 2026 Section-Wise Analysis

MAH MBA CET Logical Reasoning Exam Analysis

This was the most talked-about section in the post-exam reviews, and for good reason.

Most students reported 4-5 puzzle sets in the LR section: Linear Arrangement, Circular Seating, Floor-based puzzles, and Matrix puzzles. Matrix puzzles were specifically flagged as time-consuming. This section is dominated instead by questions like Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, Syllogisms, and Alpha-Numeric Series.

10-15 Quant-based questions were reportedly mixed into the LR section, this is a recurring pattern in the CET that often surprises unprepared candidates.

What to do if you are in an upcoming slot: Do not skip puzzle practice. Whether your paper has 5 sets or none, being ready for both scenarios keeps you in control.

MAH MBA CET Abstract Reasoning Exam Analysis

This was the easiest section of the paper, according to the students. It carried around 25 questions, and most students were able to complete it in under 15 minutes.

The topics that came up were:

  • Series Completion
  • Analogies
  • Odd One Out
  • Paper Folding
  • Figure Counting (8-10 questions were reported on this topic alone)

Figure Counting appeared more heavily than usual this year, so if you are preparing for an upcoming slot, give it some extra attention. These questions are very doable with a bit of practice.

MAH MBA CET Quantitative Aptitude Exam Analysis

The QA section had approximately 50 questions, and Arithmetic completely dominated it. The topics that appeared most frequently were:

  • Profit & Loss
  • Time, Speed & Distance
  • Percentages
  • Simple & Compound Interest
  • Averages
  • Mixture & Allegation
  • Ratios

Note: According to students, there were NO Data Interpretation sets in this slot.

Quick tip: Brushing up on mental math: multiplication tables, squares, and cubes, can save you a lot of time during DI calculations.

4. Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC)

This section was rated Easy across the board. If you have a decent reading habit, you would have found this section comfortable and quick.

The section had two main parts:

Grammar & Vocabulary: Error Spotting, Sentence Correction, Fillers, Synonyms, Antonyms, and Idioms made up a large chunk of the section. These were generally quick to solve.

Reading Comprehension: The RC passages were short and direct. Questions did not require deep reading or complex inference. The number of passages varied across reviews, some reported 2 passages while others noted 4 passages on topics like cybercrime and women's empowerment.

One thing to watch out for: some verbal questions had tricky answer choices like "None of these" or "Both A and B." These are designed to catch students who read too fast. Slow down just a little on these options, it is worth the extra few seconds.

MAH MBA CET 2026 Good Attempts

  • Attempt all 200 questions. No negative marking means there is zero downside to guessing. The "fluke" factor can realistically add 5-10 marks to your score.
  • Do not get stuck on any single question. If a puzzle is not cracking in 90 seconds, mark an educated guess and move on. Come back to it only if you have time at the end.
  • Aim for 140+ genuine attempts. Smart guessing on the remaining questions puts you in a strong position.
  • Abstract Reasoning is your free scoring zone. Finish it quickly and accurately, do not overthink it.
  • In VARC, read the options carefully. Especially for grammar questions with "None of these" choices.

MAH MBA CET 2026 Expected Cutoffs

Since this was an Easy to Moderate paper, the cutoffs are expected to be on the higher side. Here is what Cracku predicted for Day 1 Slot 1:

Percentile

Target Institute

Expected Raw Score

99.99%ile

JBIMS

145 - 152

99.90%ile

SIMSREE

140 - 144

99.00%ile

Welingkar / PUMBA

125 - 128

These are estimates based on Slot 1 difficulty alone. Final cutoffs will also depend on how other slots play out.

MAH MBA CET Normalization Process 2026

The CET is conducted across multiple slots, and your final percentile is determined after normalization, a process that adjusts raw scores based on the relative difficulty of each slot.

This means:

  • Do not compare your raw score with someone who appeared in a different slot.
  • A score of 145 in an easier slot may give a different percentile than 145 in a tougher slot.
  • Your only job is to maximize your own attempt. The normalization process handles the rest.

MAH MBA CET Slot 2 Preparation Tips

Here are the most important things Slot 1 tells you about what to expect:

  1. Puzzles may or may not appear in your LR section. Be ready for both.
  2. DI could be heavier in your slot. Practice calculation-based sets.
  3. Abstract Reasoning is always easy, do not let it trick you into overconfidence. Stay sharp on Figure Counting.
  4. VARC will be manageable but read every option carefully before marking.
  5. Attempt every single question. This one cannot be said enough.

MAH MBA CET 2026 Exam Analysis : Conclusion

The MAH MBA CET 2026 exam analysis highlights that the exam is primarily speed-driven with a moderate level of difficulty. Candidates who maintain a balance between accuracy and speed, especially in Logical Reasoning and Abstract Reasoning, are likely to score well. The absence of negative marking further encourages candidates to attempt a higher number of questions.

Overall, understanding the exam pattern and analyzing performance through mock tests can significantly improve results. With the right strategy and consistent practice, candidates can achieve a high percentile and secure admission into top MBA colleges in Maharashtra
