IIM Mumbai Selection Criteria 2026 

This article outlines the selection criteria and various stages that IIM Mumbai conduct in order to admit candidates for its various OGO program. Candidates who have applied for IIM Mumbai based on their CAT score must adhere to the following guidelines and parameters based on which the college will shortlist candidates for PI rounds.

IIM Mumbai Eligibility Criteria 2026

Following is the eligibility criteria to apply at IIM Mumbai MBA programs:

  • The candidate must hold at least three years of bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in any discipline and must have a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in graduation.

  • For reserved categories candidates like SC/ST/PwD candidates, they need to have a minimum of 45% marks or equivalent CGPA in graduation.

  • Candidates in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply given that they must submit a certificate on the specified date.

IIM Mumbai Minimum Cutoffs 2026

Following is the category wise minimum sectional and overall cutoff that applicants need to achieve in order to get the shortlisted by IIM Mumbai:

IIM Mumbai Final Selection Criteria

Following is the stage wise selection criteria at IIM Mumbai :

STAGE 1: Candidates wanting to get shortlisted by IIM Mumbai for PI rounds need to attain a minimum CAT 2025 cutoff as specified by the college. IIM Mumbai has declared sectional and overall CAT cutoff as per different reservation categories. Candidates will need to clear a minimum sectional and overall cutoff to be eligible for next rounds of the process.

Candidates should also note that the cutoff is highly dependent on the number of applicants, hence is subjected to change.

STAGE 2: IIM Mumbai will shortlist candidates based on CAT 2025 score and those applicants will then be called for Personal Interview by the institute.

STAGE 3: For candidates appearing for the Personal Interview round, the final selection will be based on a composite score where weights will be calculated for multiple parameters. This score is used to prepare the category-wise merit list. The selection process also considers the following parameters:

Rating Scores for the Bachelor’s Degree Examination

For Bachelors Degree, AR will be given depending upon the discipline and the Bachelor’s Degree Multiplication Factor is 0.7

IIM Mumbai Personal Interview

The IIM Mumbai Personal Interview is an important step in the MBA admission process and has a weight of 20% in the final selection. The shortlisted candidates who have achieved required CAT scores and profile are invited in the PI round.

The interview will be conducted with the aim of analyzing the overall personality of a candidate, communication skills, academic knowledge, and the potential success in a management program. It is usually done by the panel of faculty members and can be done in offline or online mode based on the admission cycle. IIM Mumbai reserve seats as per the norms given by the Government of India when it comes to admissions. In the application form of CAT/IIM Mumbai, candidates should be keen on the category to be filled because the same will be taken into consideration during the process.   • Deaf and hard of hearing,
  • Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy,
  • Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness,
