How FMS Composite Score is Calculated
FMS does not use the CAT percentile directly. Instead, the institute calculates a composite score using sectional marks.
The weightage given to each CAT section is shown below.
| CAT Section | Weightage |
|---|---|
| VARC (Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension) | 40% |
| DILR (Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning) | 30% |
| QA (Quantitative Ability) | 30% |
The composite score formula used by FMS is:
Composite Score = (Section Score × Weightage) ÷ Maximum Section Marks
One important thing to note is that female candidates receive an additional 5 marks in the composite score.
This approach helps FMS select candidates with balanced performance across sections.
