IFMR Graduate School of Business

IFMR Graduate School of Business (GSB) offers a rigorous two-year MBA program designed to provide students with quality management education and prepare them for the dynamic challenges of the business world.

The core curriculum consists of 54 credits, covering essential topics in management, while the elective courses span 45 credits across seven specialised areas: Data Science & Information Systems, Economics, Finance Accounting & Quantitative Finance, Marketing, Organisational Behaviour & Human Resources, Operations Management, and Strategic Management. This allows students to tailor their learning according to their interests and career goals.

In addition to academic coursework, students are also required to complete a six-credit summer internship, providing them with valuable hands-on experience in a real-world business setting. This practical learning component enhances their understanding of theoretical concepts and prepares them for the demands of the corporate world.

CAT

• Conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).
• CAT is a computer-based test (CBT) held annually.
• It evaluates candidates on Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR).
• CAT scores are accepted by various management institutes across India for admission to their MBA, PGDM, and other management programs.
• The exam typically takes place in November or December each year.

XAT 

• Administered by XLRI (Xavier School of Management), Jamshedpur.
• XAT is a national-level management aptitude test.
• Apart from XLRI, many other prestigious B-schools in India accept XAT scores for admission.
• The exam assesses candidates on Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, and General Knowledge.
• XAT is conducted once a year, usually in January.

NMAT

• Conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC).
• NMAT is the entrance exam for admission to various MBA and PGDM programs offered by NMIMS (Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies) and other B-schools.
• It assesses candidates' skills in Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning.
• NMAT is a computer-based test (CBT) held over a window of several weeks, allowing candidates to choose their preferred exam date within the specified period.

CMAT 

• Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
• CMAT is a national-level entrance exam for admission to management programs approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
• It evaluates candidates on Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, and General Awareness.
• CMAT is a computer-based test (CBT) held annually.

GMAT 

• Administered by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC).
• GMAT is an international-level standardized test used for admission to various graduate management programs, including MBA.
