Stage 2: Selection Of The Candidates For the PI Process

In the next stage of the admission process, only candidates who meet the minimum CAT percentile requirements and have filled out the IIM Nagpur application form on time will be considered. During this stage, the following aspects will be taken into account for evaluating these candidates:

CAT Score

The CAT Score for each candidate will be determined by comparing their total CAT score to the maximum possible score. It will be scaled between 0 and 10. The process involves these steps:

CAT Score= (Total CAT score obtained by the candidate/Maximum total CAT score) *10

This is the highest CAT score among the candidates who qualified for the admission process at IIM Nagpur in stage 1.

Gender Diversity (GDI)

Based on the candidate’s gender, a gender diversity score (GDI) out of 10 will be given. Males get a score of 0, and females and transgender candidates get a score of 10.

At this stage, a shortlisting score (SS) will be calculated by considering both the CAT and GDI scores. The calculation process is as follows:

SS = 0.85 * (CAT Score) + 0.15 * (GDI Score)

The candidates who qualify based on the shortlisting score (SS) will be shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI) process at IIM Nagpur. IIM Nagpur will send an email or communication to these shortlisted candidates.

Stage 3: Final Selection Of The Candidates

If you have submitted your application on time and got shortlisted in Stage 2, you must confirm your interest in attending the PI process. The schedule and details for the PI will be sent to you, and only those who take part in the PI process will be considered for the final stage of admission.

Personal Interview (PI)

Candidates who have filled out the application form got shortlisted for the PI in Stage 2 and confirmed their interest in attending the PI process would need to participate in the PI conducted by IIM Nagpur. The interviews are expected to take place in March/April 2024.

After the PI is done, the candidate’s Final Score (FS) will be calculated using the following method:

FS = 0.50* (CAT Score) + 0.25* (PI Score) + 0.05 * (PAP Score) + 0.10 * (WE Score) + 0.10* (GDI Score)

CAT (CAT) Score

The candidate’s CAT score, determined in Stage 2 of the process, will be used to calculate the Final Score (FS).

Personal Interview (PI) Score

The way candidates perform in the personal interview will be considered while calculating the Final Score (FS). The score will then be rescaled between 0 and 10.
