in q14 of varc sectional test why we arent considering option d as the ans,cuz hegel talks about evolution and the ques was talking about egyptians and all so if we look its sort of evolution thing only as the second last 3 para shows and talks about individuality now and what it was then and how it has evolved?

Hi Hitesh. The ideal state mentioned here refers to both a patient and the system under scrutiny by philosophy. A doctor need not know what is the ideal condition of the human body, no one does. The best the doctor can do is to cure the woes being faced by the patient by listening to him. Similarly, there is no ideal government we know (democracy too has its fair share of drawbacks) but we still try to contemplate how the world could be governed better, by looking towards the problems prevalent in the society. As I mentioned, the part where the conception of an ideal state is immaterial is mentioned is missing in Option C. Hence, it needs to be rejected. Hope this helps.

Games and Tournament questions are not present in last year DILR and are time consuming too. So should i spend time for the daily specific practice of this topic or not?

Hi Games and Tournaments is an important topic as far as CAT is concerned. Last year though there was not a direct set based on it but slot 3 had a 6 question set where games concept was used and CAT 2019 also had a direct Games and Tournaments based set, so it is an important topic. Yes I agree the sets are time consuming so I would suggest you to practice them within time limit , try to improve speed and attempt all the past year Games and Tournaments sets . This much should be done from your side in daily practice for this topic and it is not recommended to leave this topic.

Hello VARC faculty of cracku, wile giving topic test for RC I find it difficult to understand the RC which ultimately jeopardize my accuracy and score but without any timer I am able to solve the same RC with 100 percent accuracy, kindly advice me what should I do further I am reading Aeon and Editorial on daily basis but it is not helping me as far as RC accuracy under time pressure is concerned

Hi Siddhant, I believe you have identified the problem here and thereby, made the resolution of the same altogether easier. Given the difficulty in comprehending and retaining information under time pressure, the best and perhaps most straightforward fix is to solve more RCs under a time constraint. Take as many RC tests and VARC sectionals as possible. After solving each RC, ensure that you analyse your mistakes thoroughly and identify errors that you can overcome before your next attempt. Repeat this process and you will surely improve! All the best!
