In cat free mock 2, Q 22 why can it be not 1432? because constituency in 4 can be related to new generations in 3 and 2 will be a concluding sentence...this is better. also Sir inspite of writing I am unable to post doubts on mocks...

Hi, The correct answer is indeed 1432. I do not see where you are having an issue? The answer and the explanation provided both support 1432. Did you perhaps mean to point out a different arrangement?

hii team....plss specify the verbal ability questions "para jumbles ,para summary and odd man out " in the study room....it ia being very difficult to access our weaker areas ....most of them para completion questions which cat did not ask for last 5 years....and also most of the para jumbles involves 5 sentence....but cat did not ask 5 sentences for long time ....i feel its very important to first prepare for whats necessary and then go to higher level (like 5 sentence pjs)...plss doo consider this thank u...

Will a decrease in the number of questions in this year's CAT cause an increase in the number of diificult questions?

Hi It is difficult to say about the difficulty of paper as of now but if we analyze the trend from past 3 to 4 years, the proportion of Easy, Medium and Hard level questions in CAT have fairly been constant irrespective of number of questions so we expect the paper this year as well on similar lines with mixed level questions in all the three sections. However I would advise you to focus on your preparation without worrying about the difficulty level of exam because CAT being a relative exam, if it is tough for you it will be tough for all and if it is easy it will be easy for all. DashCAT 11 Questions seems to be reduced from 76 to 68 post test. How?

Hi The mocks have been updated in accordance with the CAT official media release that there will be reduction in questions in actual CAT. As we don't know the exact number of questions so we have reduced half of the mocks to 24 20 24 and half of the mocks to 23 22 23.

How many cubes (including the original) can be formed with vertices chosen from these points such that their faces are parallel to those of the original cube? I can't even understand what they are asking. which one is original cube?

Hi Dhruv. The wording seems ambiguous. I will try to answer using what I interpreted: The original cube here should refer to the 5x5x5 cube that is formed. I believe 'vertices chosen from these points' means that at least one of the vertices of this original cube should be common to the cubes we are trying to form: Take the left-bottom vertice. We can form a 1x1 cube that has a common vertice. This is equivalent to the 1x1x1 cube present in that corner of the larger cube. We can form a 2x2x2 cube too. This will be equivalent to the 8 cubes present in the left-bottom of the larger cube. Similarly, we can form 3x3x3 and 4x4x4 cubes, which gives us 4 cubes with 1 vertice common. We can do this for each of the 8 vertices, giving us 32 different cubes. If we try to have more than 1 vertice common, one side of the formed cube will be 5 units, giving us the original cube itself, hence, 33 cubes. It has not been given that we need to form the cubes only inside. We could form similar cubes outside the contours of the original cube, increasing the number of cases. Also, it has not been given that we can only use the 125 cubes. Then we can form infinitely many cubes. It is better to altogether avoid such vague worded questions. Hope this helps.
