i got 83 percentile in cat 2021 I am still scoring around 60s any tips to improve (general non eng male X;Xii;grad(91/87/68)

Hi Vinay, Analyse the mocks thoroughly and see where you're struggling. The reason for low scores could be weak basics / bad exam strategy / lack of practice / exam pressure. Identify it and work on that. Also, identify your weak sections and work on them (by taking topic/sectional tests).

I'm coming straight to the point, I completed my graduation (B.A- general) last year (2021). 10 and 10+2 below avarage percentage. Working as part-time broadcast Assistant in AIR. Now I want to continue my education, (MBA). Would it be really sensible for an Arts student with avarage score (throughout) studing MBA? 10th 39% 12th 54% CGPA 7.1 Can you please guide me what to do now? These are questions that need to be answered by you; it is impossible for us to decide what is good for you or anyone (for that matter). We can say with some amount of certainty that there are Arts students who go for an MBA. Since MBA opens up many generalist roles, undergraduates from varying fields try their luck getting into premier B-schools. Though you have an average/below-average academic profile, you can definitely try targeting a few top-tier B-schools. To compensate for poor acads, you would need to score high on the entrance tests. We would also advise you to gather some work-ex meanwhile and build your overall profile to improve your admission chances.

I'm taking a GAP from my job for CAT 2022 preparation. I'm a GEM with 9/9/9 in acads ,a decent profile and 14m Workex. Will it impact my calls significantly? And how should I approach this GAP year when asked about it?

Hi Ariind, "We advise you to not leave your job while preparing for CAT. Firstly, defending a gap year could be quite tricky; unless you have a really strong reason, taking a year-long gap simply for exam preparation might not be viewed favourably by the interviewers. Secondly, adding a year to your work-ex could help you when the composite scores are computed. Finally, CAT as an exam is not as demanding as it is generally perceived to be; you can work and prepare concurrently."

A few months gap won't matter much in interviews. I'm leaving my job next month to devote my entire time for CAT prep as well. Also, in case you find questions directed towards it, you can always make the case that you've been focused on profile building, doing certifications or mention medical/personal reasons.
