Please explain... A contractor undertakes to build a wall in 50 days. He employs 50 people for the same. However, after 25 days, he finda that the work is only 40% complete. If the contractor continues with the same workforce. How many days behind schedule will the work be finished??

The concept of "man-days" can be used here. If you don't know this concept you can understand it from anywhere, it won't take much time and will help in all time and work problems. If 50 people work for 25 days then they have worked for 50 x 25 = 1250 man days. According to the question this is equal to only 40% of the total work so the total work becomes 100/40 * 1250 = 3125 man days. 60% work is remaining so 3125 *60%= 1875 man days of work is left. Only 50 people will be working on this. Hence, they will need 1875/50 = 37.5 days to complete this work. This means in total these 50 people took 25+37.5 days = 62.5 days to complete the work which had to be done in 50 days. So they are 62.5-50= 12.5 days behind schedule. I hope this helps :D

I think the book is pretty good and has plenty of questions to be help you fully understand a topic. I you want to clear a few topics you can refer to the Quantitative aptitude book by Arun Sharma sir since it will help you practice a lot of questions. And for understanding the concepts you can refer to Rodha youtube channel and then solve cracku mocks.

What is fees of MBA after clearing CAT?

The fees is different for different b-schools. For the top IIMs, the fees for full-time MBA program is around 22 lakhs. For other top b-schools such as XLRI, MDI, SPJIMR the fees is around 20 lakhs, IIFT fees is around 17 lakhs, JBIMS MMS fees is around 6+ lakhs, FMS fees is the lowest among top b-schools with 2+ lakhs (FMS is the best ROI b-school).

Is CAT tougher than UPSC?

I have given UPSC, and now I'm giving CAT examination. CAT doesn't come near UPSC at any level. The CAT syllabus is fixed, and 4 hours of prep is enough for CAT. Unlike UPSC, CAT has 17-18 colleges even if you dont get the expected percentile. So UPSC is far superior because it demands great hard work, up-to-date information on politico-socio-economic of the country etc. If you have prepared for UPSC, There is a high chance of clearing Cat because you are used to doing Hardwork and can sit and study atleast 10-12 hours a day.

I have an average profile of 6.2 cgpa in 10th,55% in 12th, and 65% in grads BBA. I have done an internship during my grad. do I stand a chance of getting any iim or xlri through the exam?

Hi Priyamvda, based on your acads the CAT percentile for top IIMs would be very high (if you belong to the Gen category). You can aim for New IIMs. For XLRI, you would have good chances if you score well in the XAT (as XLRI gives more weightage to XAT scores and less weightage to past acads). All the best.
