mocks not opening

A 20% ethanol solution is mixed with another ethanol solution, say, S of unknown concentration in the proportion 1:3 by volume. This mixture is then mixed with an equal volume of 20% ethanol solution. If the resultant mixture is a 31.25% ethanol solution, then the unknown concentration of S is? how to do it using alligation method??

Hey, just a quick question. If in a question profit percentage for two items given is same, then the positive profit profit percentage is considered same right?(A question says out of 5 items, 3 were sold in profit and 2 in loss, now there can be a possibility of loss percentage or profit percentage being the same.)
