From the statements, we know: A) 2x=y, Thus 2x - y = 0 B) x-4:y-4 = 3:8 which turns out to be 8x - 3y = 20 If we compare 2x - y = 0 and 8x - 3y = 20, we get x = 10. So, present age of Suresh = 10 (which is x) 4 years hence, Suresh will be 10 + 4 = 14 years old. I hope I explained it.
