Hi, I am aiming for 90 percentile. Getting the reasonable percentile in DILR & QA. There is a shortfall of 10 Percentile in VARC always. Can you suggest how can i improve this.

Hi 80-90 percentile in mocks is a very good score and you can score much above this in CAT . To increase VARC scores , look for the type of mistakes you are committing in mocks and sectionals and analyze them , compare your attempts and accuracy ratio in sectionals and mocks and then formulate a strategy keeping in mind about the attempts and accuracy . To improve your score from here , a big part will be played by strategy so focus on that a bit and try to work accordingly.

Hi, my VARC section is stuck at the range of 11-13 Ques correct and 6-8 Ques wrong, how do I improve the same?

Hi Your attempts is decent, attempting 19-20 questions in VARC is fine . Try to get an idea about the questions where you are committing mistakes more often and then work on them , you can chose either not to attempt them or attempt them at the last . Do not attempt the questions which you did not understand , if you feel you have invested 5minutes in a passage and now have to mark all questions , refrain from that , attempt the fact based or easy questions and move on do not stress too much on all questions . For VA try to revisit the bookmarked questions again and keep analyzing and learn from mistakes .

Sir I have been giving sectionals till now. Is there enough time to give all mocks or should I focus more on revision and give few mocks?

Hi Given the time left you should not give a lot of mocks , try to give 1 mock in every two days and do not give a mock 3 4 days prior to the exam. Try to revise concepts and appear for sectionals .

Hi, given the number of days, how should one approach revision? Is daily revision advisable?

Hi For VARC you have to continue the process of reading articles and solving passages . For LRDI: Try to go through the book marked sets of all the mocks which you have attempted this year and attempt past 4 years papers as well . If not as sectionals then attempt sets on timed basis . For Quants go through your notes daily at least once and try to remember the formulas as they help to solve quickly in few questions , the topics which you are not feeling comfortable with try to attempt all past year questions from that topic as that will give you an idea about the kind of questions asked and then stress a bit more on such type of questions . Try to revise concepts as many times as you can and in quants especially be more exam specific and focus more on Arithmetic , Algebra and Geometry relative to other topics.

I am not able to score in quants. I know how to solve questions and also I am able to solve the questions when I am reviewing the Mock but I actually score really low in mocks. I hardly cross 20 marks

Time pressure can be an issue. Firstly, don't start with an conception that you have to solve some 12-15 sums in this mock. Concentrate on attempting the questions on familiar topics first. After completing them, try to go for other questions which you've marked for review.
