Question 92

The diameter of a circle is equal to the side of the square. What is the area of the square if the area of the circle is 64π sq cm?

Let radius of circle = $$r$$ cm

Area of circle = $$\pi r^2 = 64 \pi$$

=> $$r^2 = 64$$

=> $$r = \sqrt{64} = 8$$ cm

Thus, diameter of circle = Side of square = $$2 \times 8 = 16$$ cm

$$\therefore$$ Area of square = $$(16)^2 = 256 cm^2$$

=> Ans - (D)
