Question 92

A shopkeeper by selling 22 Skechers shoes, earns a profit equal to the selling price of 6 Skechers shoes. His profit percentage is:

Solution

Let cost price of a shoe = $$Rs. x$$

Selling price of a shoe = $$Rs. y$$

=> Selling price of 6 shoes = $$Rs. 6y$$

According to ques, => $$22(y - x) = 6y$$

=> $$22y - 22x = 6y$$

=> $$16y = 22x$$

=> $$\frac{x}{y} = \frac{16}{22} = \frac{8}{11}$$

Let Cost price, $$x = 8$$ and selling price, $$y = 11$$

$$\therefore$$ Profit % = $$\frac{y - x}{x} \times 100$$

= $$\frac{11 - 8}{8} \times 100$$

= $$\frac{3}{2} \times 25 = 37.5\%$$

=> Ans - (B)
