Let AD = 5 and DB = 3

DE $$\parallel$$ BC and thus $$\triangle$$ ADE $$\sim$$ $$\triangle$$ ABC

=> $$\frac{AD}{DE}=\frac{AB}{BC}$$

=> $$\frac{DE}{BC}=\frac{AD}{AD+DB}$$

=> $$\frac{DE}{BC}=\frac{5}{5+3}$$

=> $$\frac{DE}{BC}=\frac{5}{8}$$

=> Ans - (A)
