In ΔABC, ∠BAC = 90° and AD is drawn perpendicular to BC. If BD = 7 cm and CD = 28 cm, then what is the length (in cm) of AD?

Solution

Given : BD = 7 cm and DC = 28 cm

To find : AD = ?

Solution : In $$\triangle$$ ABC

=> $$(AD)^2=(BD)\times(DC)$$

=> $$(AD)^2=7\times28=196$$

=> $$AD=\sqrt{196}=14$$ cm

=> Ans - (D)
