Question 89

If $$(\frac{x}{5})+(\frac{5}{x})=-2$$, then what is the value of $$x^3$$?

Solution

Given : $$(\frac{x}{5})+(\frac{5}{x})=-2$$

=> $$\frac{x^2+25}{5x}=-2$$

=> $$x^2+10x+25=0$$

=> $$(x+5)^2=0$$

=> $$x=-5$$

$$\therefore$$ $$x^3=(-5)^3=-125$$

=> Ans - (A)
