If 27% of an electricity bill is deducted, Rs 1825 is still to be paid. How much was the bill?

Solution

Let the original bill amount = $$Rs. 100x$$

If 27% of an electricity bill is deducted, bill left = $$\frac{100 - 27}{100} \times 100x = 73x$$

According to ques, => $$73x = 1825$$

=> $$x = \frac{1825}{73} = 25$$

$$\therefore$$ Original bill amount = $$100 \times 25 = Rs. 2500$$

=> Ans - (C)
