=> Area of circle = $$\pi (10)^2 = 100 \pi$$ sq. cm

If radius is increased by 16%, => New radius = 11.6 cm

New area = $$\pi (11.6)^2 = 134.56 \pi$$ sq. cm

=> % increase in area = $$\frac{134.56 - 100}{100} \times 100$$

= 34.56%
