If 31% of an electricity bill is deducted, Rs 1794 is still to be paid. How much was the original bill amount?

Solution

Let the original bill amount = $$Rs. 100x$$

If 31% of an electricity bill is deducted, bill left = $$\frac{100 - 31}{100} \times 100x = 69x$$

According to ques, => $$69x = 1794$$

=> $$x = \frac{1794}{69} = 26$$

$$\therefore$$ Original bill amount = $$100 \times 26 = Rs. 2600$$

=> Ans - (B)
