Question 82

An angle is (2/3)rd of its supplementary angle. What is the measure of the angle?

Solution

Let the supplementary angle = $$\theta$$

Required angle = $$(\frac{2}{3}\theta)$$

Sum of an angle and its supplementary angle = 180°

=> $$\theta + (\frac{2}{3}\theta) = 180$$°

=> $$\frac{5}{3} \theta = 180$$°

=> $$\theta = \frac{180 \times 3}{5} = 108$$°

$$\therefore$$ Measure of the angle = $$\frac{2}{3} \times 108 = 72$$°

=> Ans - (B)
