Question 80

If a:b = 5:8, find the value of (6a - 5b)/(a + 2b).

Solution

It is given that a : b = 5 : 8

Let $$a = 5$$ and $$b = 8$$

To find : $$\frac{6a - 5b}{a + 2b}$$

= $$\frac{(6 \times 5) - (5 \times 8)}{(5) + (2 \times 8)}$$

= $$\frac{30 - 40}{5 + 16} = \frac{-10}{21}$$

=> Ans - (D)
