The ratio of two numbers is 5 : 4. If the sum of both the numbers is 180, then what is the smaller number among both the numbers?
Solution
Let the numbers be $$5x$$ and $$4x$$
Sum = $$5x+4x=180$$
=> $$9x=180$$
=> $$x=\frac{180}{9}=20$$
$$\therefore$$ Smaller number = $$4\times20=80$$
=> Ans - (B)
