Question 8

A box consist of 5 rupees, 2 rupees and 1 rupee coins and their value are in the ratio of 15 : 4 : 2 respectively. If there are total 112 coins, then how many 2rupees coins are there in the box?

Let total value of Rs. 5 coins = Rs. $$15x$$, for Rs. 2 coins = Rs. $$4x$$ and Re. 1 coin = Rs. $$2x$$

=> Number of Rs. 5 coins = $$\frac{15x}{5}=3x$$

Similarly, number of Rs. 2 coins = $$\frac{4x}{2}=2x$$ and Re. 1 coin = $$\frac{2x}{1}=2x$$

Total number of coins = $$3x+2x+2x=112$$

=> $$x=\frac{112}{7}=16$$

$$\therefore$$ Number of 2 rupees coins = $$2\times16=32$$

=> Ans - (A)
