If by increasing the price of a ticket in the ratio 8:11 the number of tickets sold fall in the ratio 23:21 then what is the increase (in Rs) in revenue if revenue before increase in price of ticket was Rs 36,800?

Solution

Let say ,price of tickets are 8x and 11x

And, sells of tickets are 23y and 21y .

So, before change revenue=23y×8x.

So, (8x×23y)=36800

or, xy=200.

So, new revenue=11×21×200=46200.

So, increase in revenue=46200-36800=9400.

B is correct choice
