What is the area (in sq cm) of a rectangle of perimeter 90 cm and breadth 20 cm?

Solution

Let length of rectangle = $$l$$ cm and breadth = $$b=20$$ cm

Perimeter of rectangle = $$2(l+b)=90$$

=> $$l+20=\frac{90}{2}=45$$

=> $$l=45-20=25$$ cm

$$\therefore$$ Area of rectangle = $$lb$$

= $$25\times20=500$$ $$cm^2$$

=> Ans - (A)
