A can do a work in 8 days, B can do the same work in 10 days and C can do the same work in 12 days. If all three of them do the same work together and they are paid Rs 7400, then what is the share (in Rs) of B?

Let total work to be done = L.C.M.(8,10,12) = 120 units

A can do the work in 8 days, => A's efficiency = $$\frac{120}{8}=15$$ units/day

Similarly, B's efficiency = $$\frac{120}{10}=12$$ units/day

and C's efficiency = $$\frac{120}{12}=10$$ units/day

=> Ratio of efficiencies of A : B : C = 15 : 12 : 10

Total amount to be paid = Rs. 7400

$$\therefore$$ B's share = $$\frac{12}{(15+12+10)}\times7400$$

= $$12\times200=Rs.$$ $$2400$$
