Average weight of 8 gold coins is 20 g per coin. Average weight of 12 silver coins is 35 g per coin. What is the average weight per coin for 20 coins?

Solution

Given avg weight of 8 gold coins is 20

sum of 8 coins=8$$\times\ $$20=160

Also given that avg weight of 12 gold coins is 35

so,sum of 12 coins=420

now we need to find avg weight of 20 gold coins

=$$\frac{\left(160+420\right)}{20}$$

=$$\frac{580}{20}$$

=29

hence answer is option b
