A sum of 3392 is divided among A, B, C and D such that the ratio for shares of A and B is 2: 5, that of B and C is 3 : 7 and that of C and D is 5 : 8. What is the share of C?

Solution

A : B = 2 : 5 , B : C = 3 : 7 , C : D = 5 : 8

Multiplying (1), (2) and (3) by 3,5 and 7 respectively, we get :

=> A : B : C : D = 6 : 15 : 35 : 56

$$\therefore$$ Share of C = $$\frac{35}{(6+15+35+56)}\times3392$$

= $$\frac{5}{16}\times3392=Rs.$$ $$1060$$

=> Ans - (A)
