Question 74

If 2A = 3B = 7C, then what is the ratio of A: B: C?

Solution

Given, 2A = 3B = 7C
2A = 3B
$$\dfrac{A}{B} = \dfrac{3}{2}$$ -- (1)

3B = 7C
$$\dfrac{B}{C} = \dfrac{7}{3}$$ -- (2)
Multiplying (1) by 7 and (2) by 2
$$\dfrac{A}{B} = \dfrac{21}{14}$$

$$\dfrac{B}{C} = \dfrac{14}{6}$$

Therefore, $$A : B : C = 21 : 14 : 6$$
