Question 73

The area of the quadrant of a circle whose circumference is 22 cm, will be:

Let the radius of the circle = r

Circumference of the circle = 22 cm

$$\Rightarrow$$  $$2\pi r=22$$

$$\Rightarrow$$  $$2\times\frac{22}{7}\times r=22$$

$$\Rightarrow$$  $$r=\frac{7}{2}$$ cm

$$\therefore\ $$Area of the quadrant of the circle $$=\frac{1}{4}\times\pi\ r^2$$

$$=\frac{1}{4}\times\frac{22}{7}\times\ \left(\frac{7}{2}\right)^2$$

$$=\frac{77}{8}$$

$$=$$ 9.625 cm$$^2$$

Hence, the correct answer is Option D
