If X is 80% more than Y, then Y is how much percentage less than X?

Solution

Let Y be 100. Then X = 180% of 100 = 180
Y is less than X by $$\dfrac{180-100}{180}\times100 = \dfrac{80}{180}\times100 = \dfrac{4}{9}\times100$$
We know that $$\dfrac{1}{9} = 11.11$$%$$
Then, $$\dfrac{4}{9} = 44.44$$%
