Question 71

What is the slope of the line, parallel to the line 3x - 6y = 4?

Solution

Slope of line having equation : $$ax + by + c = 0$$ is $$\frac{-a}{b}$$

Slope of line passing $$3x - 6y = 4$$ is $$\frac{-3}{-6}$$

= $$\frac{1}{2}$$

Slope of two parallel lines is always equal.

=> Slope of the line parallel to the line having slope 1/2 = $$\frac{1}{2}$$

=> Ans - (B)
