Question 71

If angles of a triangle are in the ratio of 2 : 3 : 4, then the measure of the smallest angleis:

Solution

Ratio of angles = 2 : 3 : 4

Let the angles be 2x, 3x and 4x.

We know the sum of the angles of a triangle is 180$$\degree$$.

2x + 3x + 4x = 180$$\degree$$

x = 180/9 = 20 $$\degree$$

Smallest angle = 2x = 2 $$\times 20 = 40 \degree$$
