A can do a piece of work alone in 10 days, whereas B alone can do it in 15 days. They work together and get ₹2000 for their work. What is the share of B?
The money given for the work is divided according to their efficiencies.
Let's assume the total work is 30 units.
A can do a piece of work alone in 10 days.
The efficiency of A = $$\frac{30}{10}$$ = 3 units/day
Whereas B alone can do it in 15 days.
The efficiency of B = $$\frac{30}{15}$$ = 2 units/day
So the money will be divided between A and B in the ratio of 3:2 respectively.
Share of B = ₹$$2000\times\ \frac{2}{3+2}$$
= ₹$$2000\times\ \frac{2}{5}$$
= ₹800
