The ratio of speeds of A and B is 3 : 5. If A takes 24 minutes more than to cover a certain distance, then how much time (in minutes) will B take to cover the same distance ?
Solution
Ratio of speeds of A and B = 3 : 5
Ratio of time taken = 5 : 3
Let time taken by A and B be 5x and 3x respectively.
Then, according to the question, 5x-3x=24 = x=12
Hence, time taken by A
Hence B will take =Â $$3\times12=36\ $$ mins.
