Question 69

The length of the diagonal of a square is 10 cm. What is area of this square?

Let the side of square = $$s$$ cm and diagonal, $$d = 10$$ cm

=> $$(s)^2 + (s)^2 = (d)^2$$

=> $$2s^2 = (10)^2 = 100$$

=> $$s^2 = \frac{100}{2} = 50$$

$$\therefore$$ Area of square = $$s^2 = 50 cm^2$$

=> Ans - (A)
