Question 69

The following bar chart shows the runs scored and the balls played by a batsman in 5 different inning
$$Strike\ rate=\frac{Runs\ scored}{Balls\ played}\times100$$

What is the difference between the strike rates of I2 and I5? [Give your answer correct to 2 decimal places.]

Solution

Strike rates of I2 = $$\frac{102}{66}\times100$$

= $$\frac{1700}{11}$$

Strike rates of I5 = $$\frac{56}{44}\times100$$

= $$\frac{1400}{11}$$

Difference between the strike rates of I2 and I5 = $$\frac{1700}{11}-\frac{1400}{11}$$

= $$\frac{300}{11}$$

= 27.27 (approx.)
