Question 69

A, B and C, working alone can do a piece of work in 12, 24 and 36 days respectively. They work together and get ₹3850 for completing the work. Whatis the difference in shares of B and C?

Solution

A = 12

B =24

C = 36

Lcm= 12,24,36=72=total work

Efficency = $$\frac {12}{72},\frac {24}{72},\frac {36}{72}$$

  = 6 , 3, 2 respectively

So shares is distributed in the ratio of efficiency

B's share=$$\frac {3}{11}\times 3850$$ = 1050

Similarly C's share = $$\frac {2}{11}\times 3850$$ = 700

(B-C)'s shares = 350
