Question 68

Which of the following statements is true as per the given arrangement?

Only two people were appointed after the one who plays Hockey. This implies that the Hockey Player was appointed on Friday.
E was appointed on one of the days after the one who plays Hockey. This implies that E was either appointed on Saturday or Sunday.

Case 1: E was appointed on Saturday. Only three people were appointed between E and G. This implies that G was appointed on Tuesday.
Only one person was appointed between G and the one who plays Volleyball. The person playing Volleyball can only be appointed on Thursday.
A was appointed immediately after the one who plays Volleyball. This implies that A was appointed on Friday.
C was appointed Immediately after F, but not on Friday. The only possibility is when F was appointed on Wednesday and C was appointed on Thursday.
Only two people were appointed between F and the one who plays Cricket. So, the Cricket player must be appointed on Saturday i.e. E.
F plays squash.
More than three people were appointed after the one who plays Kho-kho which means that this player can only be appointed on Monday or Tuesday.
From this information we can construct the table:
Monday - -
Tuesday- - G
Wednesday - Squash - F
Thursday - Volleyball - C
Friday - Hockey - A
Saturday - Cricket - E
Sunday - -

Case 2: E was appointed on Sunday. Only three people were appointed between E and G. This implies that G was appointed on Wednesday.
Only one person was appointed between G and the one who plays Volleyball. The person playing Volleyball can be appointed on either Monday or Friday but Friday is already taken by the Hockey Player. So, The person playing Volleyball was appointed on Monday.
A was appointed immediately after the one who plays Volleyball. This implies that A was appointed on Tuesday.
C was appointed Immediately after F, but not on Friday. The only possibility is when F was appointed on Friday and C was appointed on Saturday. But F plays squash which is not possible as the Hockey player was appointed on Friday. So, this case is not possible.

From among the options, the only TRUE statement is that only 3 people were appointed before C i.e. Option B.
