Question 68

Ratio between average of first four prime numbers and first four composite numbers is

Solution

First 4 prime numbers are : 2, 3, 5, 7

Average = $$\frac{Sum\ of\ observation}{number\ of\ observation}$$

= $$\frac{2+3+5+7}{4}=\frac{17}{4}$$

First 4 Composite numbers are : 4, 6, 8, 9

Average = $$\frac{4+6+8+9}{4}=\frac{27}{4}$$

The required Ratio = $$\frac{17}{4}\ :\ \frac{27}{4}$$

i.e; $$17\ :\ 27$$

Hence, Option B is correct.
