$$4 \times a = 2(L+B)$$

$$4 \times 12 = 2(16+B)$$

$$48 = 2(16+B)$$

16+B = 24

B = 24-16 = 8 cm

Area of this rectangle = $$L\times B$$

= $$16\times8$$

= 128 $$cm^2$$
