A retailer bought 22 kg of rice at ₹35 per kg and 13 kg of rice at ₹30 per kg. What profit did he get when he mixed the two varieties together and sold it at ₹40 per kg? (correct to the nearest integer)
A retailer bought 22 kg of rice at ₹35 per kg and 13 kg of rice at ₹30 per kg.
Total cost price = $$22\times35+13\times30$$
= 770+390
= 1160
Selling price of 1 kg rice = ₹40
Total selling price = $$(22+13)\times40$$
= $$35\times40$$
= 1400
Profit = $$\frac{\left(1400-1160\right)}{1160}\times\ 100$$
= $$\frac{240}{1160}\times\ 100$$
= 20.68%
= 21% (approx.)
