A man walks at 6 m/sec and reaches his destination in 20 minutes. A woman covers the same distance in 1.2 hours. What is the speed of the woman (in km/h)?
A man walks at 6 m/sec and reaches his destination in 20 minutes.
Speed of man =Â 6 m/sec
time taken to reach the destination =Â 20 minutesÂ
= $$20\times60$$Â seconds [1 minute = 60 seconds]
=Â 1200Â seconds
Distance covered by the man =Â $$speed\times\ time$$
=Â $$6\times1200$$
 = 7200 m
A woman covers the same distance in 1.2 hours.
Distance = 7200 m
= 7.2 km [1km = 1000m]
Speed of the woman =Â $$\frac{distance}{time}$$
= $$\frac{7.2}{1.2}$$
= 6 km/h
