Question 67

If the mean of five numbers 1 , 2, 3, 5, and 'x' is 2.4, then find the value of 'x'.

Solution

If the mean of five numbers 1 , 2, 3, 5, and 'x' is 2.4.

$$2.4 = \frac{1+2+3+5+x}{5}$$

1+2+3+5+x = 12

11+x = 12

x = 12-11

x = 1
