Question 66

The shopkeeper added 36% of the cost price as mark up and then he gives a discount of same 36% on the marked price for a sale, then what will be the overall profit or loss percentage.

Solution

Let cost price = Rs. 100

=> Marked price = $$100\times(\frac{136}{100})=Rs.$$ $$136$$

Thus, selling price after discount of 36% = $$136\times\frac{100-36}{100}=Rs.$$ $$87.04$$

$$\therefore$$ Loss % = $$\frac{100-87.04}{100}\times100=12.96\%$$

=> Ans - (C)
